Short for Perfect Sphere
“A Very British Cult”
Directed by Adam Oldroyd and written by Adam with Phil and Simon Griffiths. Produced by Perfect Sphere and stars Richard Herring (Lee & Herring, This morning with Richard NOT Judy, Fist of Fun) as Cult leader David.
Made originally as a pilot for the BBC series "Hard Times" this comedy short centers around David, a cult leader with a problem. He knows Jesus is returning but he forgot to confirm the date.
His disciples are leaving in droves for a rival cult in Dorset with better facilities. His wife is thinking of leaving him and his remaining followers are more interested in Chocolate Hob-Nobs than the Almighty. But God is about to send David a message, if only he can figure out what it means?
Shot over 3 days on SONY Digibeta, originally offlined on Canopus EDIUS Pro and onlined on Avid at Films at 59.
Adam was in need of a slight re-edit and to replace the previous soundtrack containing copyrighted music not covered outside the BBC with copyright free material for distribution as part of the Extras on Richard Herring's "Oh Fuck I'm 40" Live DVD.
A Very British Cult will hopefully be doing the rounds at some festivals in the near future. If you want anymore information contact Adam Oldroyd at: adam@perfectsphere.tv
